Comedian Melanie Rose makes her return visit tonight after a three-year absence. Melanie started out eleven years ago taking a class called Stand Up For Mental Health. Today she puts on a show called Heavy Mental, among other things. I believe she runs the only comedy room in Richmond, too. And performs regularly at Yuk Yuk's. We'll get the lowdown tonight about her past, present, and future. Very Dickens-like, I'd say, for the season.

Melanie Rose made her What's So Funny? debut a couple weeks ago, crossing that goal off her list. She was under strict rules not to look me in the eye but I think she sneaked a peak. And I didn't bite. It was an interesting conversation – our first even though she's been doing standup for nine years. We talked about homelessness, mental health, bank robbers, farm living, the big city, and red theatres, among other things.

To help ring in November, we've got a first-timer with us. Melanie Rose will be in studio to tell us all about her weird and wonderful life. All I know is what she says on stage as a standup comic, but if only half of that is true, we're going to have a great talk. For example, was she really married to a bank robber? We'll find out. Melanie has appeared on She Kills Me showing off her standup chops on the APTN channel. And she performs often with her buddy, the great Mike MacDonald.
