The Great Alcohol Debate – Nikki Glaser
With the run-away success of the Norm Macdonald video (1103 views and counting), I decided to add another video snippet to the What's So Funny? channel collection. Last night I found two minutes from the Nikki Glaser episode that was snippet-worthy and it's up on YouTube now (6 views and counting). It's our brief debate on the wonders of alcohol.

Podcast episode 281ish: Nikki Glaser
The charming and flippant Nikki Glaser takes a turn for the serious on this episode of What's So Funny? She's still charming as all get-out, don't get me wrong. But she talks seriously about her past eating disorder and her past over-indulgence of liquor, among other topics, such as trying to get an audition with Jud Apatow while working as a nanny for his children. It's a good one. This space highly recommends that you download the episode now and listen to it repeatedly. Go to iTunes. Go to other podcast depots. Or listen to it right here and now. Thank me later.Sunday, June 3, 2012
June 3: Nikki Glaser
Nikki Glaser looks like she's got it all together. Hot young blonde comic who's done Last Comic Standing twice and the Tonight Show once. Her easy, breezy style of comedy is hilariously explicit and she exudes charm and fun. But in this episode of What's So Funny?, she makes it very clear she wasn't the popular cheerleader type who added stand-up comedy to her list of effortless accomplishments. She had a severe eating disorder for five years that landed her in hospital and very nearly ended her. It was comedy that gave her a reason to live. But that's not all we talked about when we sat down at her hotel a couple weeks ago to record tonight's show. We also argued about the deliciousness of alcohol, talked about nannying for a famous Hollywood director, and rehashed her two seasons on LCS. Oh, it's a good one, alright. Be sure to listen tonight from 11 pm to midnight-ish. If you're in Vancouver, tune in to CFRO 102.7 FM. If you're in the hinterland or some other metropolis far, far away, you can livestream the show at coopradio.org. And, as usual, the episode will be available in popular podcast format in one week.
