It's been a while since we've had a rocker join us on the show. Well, June, anyway, when Steve Bays was our guest. But it's been two years since Ewan Currie has been on the show. Here he makes his second appearance. His band, The Sheepdogs, was in town playing a festival. They flew in the day of the show and left the next day but he still made time for us. What a guy! The man is a big comedy fan. He tells us the comedy origins of the name of his latest album, Future Nostalgia. He also reveals his high school musical days, talks about hobnobbing with the country's mayors, discusses his love/hate relationship with journalists, considers the pros and cons of unpopular opinion, and recalls getting his photo taken with the most hated man in Canada. Rock on!
Here's the link to get you on your way.

Nov. 8: Ewan Currie
Ewan Currie makes his second appearance on What's So Funny? this evening. He's not a comedian but is a big comedy fan, but we talk about both music and comedy. And other stuff, too. His band, The Sheepdogs, have a new album out and he tells us the title's comedy connection. The album is called Future Nostalgia. Any guesses as to the reference? You'll just have to tune in to find out.
We're on the air at 11 pm on CFRO 100.5 FM. Of course, you can always find us on TuneIn, or at coopradio.org.

Podcast episode 322ish: Ewan Currie
| Ewan Currie not doing standup |
We also talk about his Aussie beginnings – yes, that's right, Mr. Saskatchewan was actually born down under – I plant the seeds of turmoil in the band, he opines on shampoo and Tim Horton's, and we play a home-made version of The $20,000 Pyramid. I perhaps should have explained the rules better.
So have a listen. You can click below or, preferably, go download it at iTunes where you'll give us a star-rating and comment. It would be the decent thing to do.

Sept. 8: Ewan Currie
We're rocking out tonight on What's So Funny? The Sheepdogs were in town a week or so ago playing the Malkin Bowl. Lead singer Ewan Currie is a big comedy fan so I thought that was reason enough to have him on the show. I do believe he's the first WSF? guest to have been on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. We talked about that, why he likes to maintain an air of mystery, his brief career as a standup comic, shampoo, his distaste for Tim Horton's, and meeting Larry David. I also throw in a track from The Sheepdogs for good measure.
We're on the air at 11pm PT on CFRO 100.5 FM or you can livestream it at coopradio.org.
