June 3: Nikki Glaser
Nikki Glaser looks like she's got it all together. Hot young blonde comic who's done Last Comic Standing twice and the Tonight Show once. Her easy, breezy style of comedy is hilariously explicit and she exudes charm and fun. But in this episode of What's So Funny?, she makes it very clear she wasn't the popular cheerleader type who added stand-up comedy to her list of effortless accomplishments. She had a severe eating disorder for five years that landed her in hospital and very nearly ended her. It was comedy that gave her a reason to live. But that's not all we talked about when we sat down at her hotel a couple weeks ago to record tonight's show. We also argued about the deliciousness of alcohol, talked about nannying for a famous Hollywood director, and rehashed her two seasons on LCS. Oh, it's a good one, alright. Be sure to listen tonight from 11 pm to midnight-ish. If you're in Vancouver, tune in to CFRO 102.7 FM. If you're in the hinterland or some other metropolis far, far away, you can livestream the show at coopradio.org. And, as usual, the episode will be available in popular podcast format in one week.
