Comedy festival season is upon. Starting Thursday, the Global Comedy Fest will treat the city to laughs o' plenty. The question: Will the city care? I don't know why, but this festival always seems to get short shrift compared to all the other festivals in town. The film festival gets banners all over the place, the jazz festival is omnipresent (when, really, how many people do you know who like jazz?), yet the comedy festival flies under the radar. People love comedy. This is a proven fact. Yet you wouldn't know it at festival time.
Tonight, Will Davis makes his annual Charles Grodin-like appearance on What's So Funny? It's always a blast. He'll run down the shows and performers and justify the decisions he's made.
