Nov. 17: Dave Martin

We've got a fresh one for you tonight, folks. After last week's show, I got a call at the station asking if we're ever going to have a live in-studio guest again because we've had lots of pre-recorded shows recently. It's still pre-recorded tonight but I spoke with Dave Martin on Friday afternoon. So that's close, right? Almost live. We're inching our way towards a live in-studio guest and that'll happen next Sunday. But tonight we have Martin, a Toronto comic who also hosts Anything Goes on SiriusXM's Canada Laughs channel. Like this show, it's also a podcast so you can find it through whichever podcast receptacle you use.

We talked about Rob Ford, Dave's early character work, Morton Downey, Jr., and playing to the back of the room, among other topics. Tune in tonight at 11 to CFRO, 100.5 FM, in Vancouver or livestream it at coopradio.org.

Quite profound observation about the subjective nature of comedy and porn. Furry and mimikko are like Serbs and Croats. You can't tell the difference between the two unless you are one, but if you are it's the most important thing in the world. Basically this is just an excuse to say furry = animals with human characteristics (as seen on CSI, meh) while mimikko is humans with animal characteristics (think playboy bunnies but doesn't have to be just bunny). The more you know!
